Churches called to pray as part of #LightforLima

The call has gone out to churches in the UK and across the world to pray for the Lima climate talks as part of Our Voices “#LightforLima” vigils.

There are two ways to participate: holding or joining in a vigil on the evening of Sunday, December 7th, or praying while lighting a candle or solar lamp at any time up to the 7th. This could include praying while lighting an Advent candle. Either way, please take a picture of your activity and post it to Twitter or Facebook, with the hashtag #LightforLima – the photos will form a “digital vigil.”

For more information and resources on holding/joining a vigil, visit the Our Voices “#LightforLima” webpage.

Archbishop Emeritus of Cape Town Desmond Tutu has written a prayer for #LightforLima, which you can find here.

There’s also an Advent Light for Lima prayer powerpoint available here.
